Class Descriptions
Baby Class - Tuesdays 12:00
Connect with other parents and caregivers in this gentle class for lap babies and young walkers. Babies are intrigued by the new sounds they discover and the objects they explore in class. Adults build a repertoire of games, songs, and rhymes they can use at home to entertain, soothe and connect with their babies. We introduce them to rhythm and rhyme with gentle lap bounces and nursery rhymes. Adults dance their babies around the room to music of different styles and genres, exposing them to a broad range of music. We use a variety of songs and age appropriate props like scarves and small percussion instruments to give babies a tactile, visual and aural musical experience.
Toddler Class – Tuesdays 11:00
Lots of movement, songs, instruments and fun props help us develop our ears, minds and bodies. Toddlers and their adults are led through 45 minutes of joyful musical play that introduces them to musical concepts like up/down, fast/slow, smooth/bumpy and loud/soft. Children get practice singing, playing small percussion instruments, sharing, taking turns and being part of a group.
Preschool Class - Tuesdays 4:00
Adults take a backseat in this class. Through fun and imaginative music games children are introduced to their Do Re Mi’s, the art of attentive listening, and simple cooperative activities. Adults and children learn simple clapping games and partner together in music games. Children learn to play pitched and unpitched percussion instruments more musically and with greater control. Come ready to sing and move!
Mixed Ages Class Thursdays 4:00
Intended for infants thru PreK this class is ideal for families with young children under 5. Classes feature lots of movement, songs and instruments. Circle games and dances bring out the fun social elements of music. Multi-level activities allow everyone to participate at their own developmental level.
